United Bible Societies (UBS) is a global fellowship dedicated to making the Bible accessible to everyone, forming a network of 156 independent Bible Societies operating in 240 countries and territories worldwide. The strategic and operational needs of the UBS members are supported by the Global Mission Team (GMT).
Over the past twelve months, we have been developing a strategic growth plan for the next 3–5 years. As part of this initiative, we are excited to announce several new opportunities to join our global mission efforts.
These new roles are designed to increase the GMT’s focus on the needs of the Bible Societies and ensure that they are well-equipped to deliver their strategies, programmes, projects, and ministries today and in the future.
You will be joining a dynamic, international organisation with a passion for providing all people with the Word of God in their heart language. As such, all applicants will need to be able to uphold the christian ethos and be comfortable working in a Christian organisation with sensitivity to the breadth of church support that UBSA enjoys. We offer a competitive employment package based on your location. There may be opportunities to travel, and to work with a wider global team, as well as external mission partners and organisations.
Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week

The UBS Literacy Advisor will seek to strengthen the capacity in Bible Societies for Bible based literacy work. They will work with the Global Literacy Coordinator to establish a global framework for literacy (including project prioritisation, quality assurance and development) and will serve as the professional advisor to Bible Societies planning or implementing literacy programmes.
The Literacy Advisor will enhance links between Bible translation and literacy within the organisational structure and support Bible Societies in developing effective literacy components in their translation programmes.
