In this post you can read Bible verses about sin. The coming posts will cover repentance and salvation.
All of us have sinned and fallen short of God’s glory. But God treats us much better than we deserve, and because of Christ Jesus, he freely accepts us and sets us free from our sins. (Romans 3:23-24)
Why, then, do you look at the speck in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the log in your own eye? (Matthew 7:3)
So then, if we do not do the good we know we should do, we are guilty of sin. (James 4:17)
You must put to death, then, the earthly desires at work in you, such as sexual immorality, indecency, lust, evil passions, and greed (for greed is a form of idolatry). (Colossians 3:5)
The Lord is not slow to do what he has promised, as some think. Instead, he is patient with you, because he does not want anyone to be destroyed, but wants all to turn away from their sins. (2 Peter 3:9)
I honestly want to know
everything you teach.
Think about me and be kind,
just as you are to everyone
who loves your name.
Keep your promise
and don’t let me stumble
or let sin control my life.
For sin pays its wage—death; but God’s free gift is eternal life in union with Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 6:23)
Be merciful to me, O God,
because of your constant love.
Because of your great mercy
wipe away my sins!
Wash away all my evil
and make me clean from my sin!
Christ himself carried our sins in his body to the cross, so that we might die to sin and live for righteousness. It is by his wounds that you have been healed. (1 Peter 2:24)
Above everything, love one another earnestly, because love covers over many sins. (1 Peter 4:8)
